The amazing DC blog team over at The Hill is Home engaged us to freshen up their website design, rethinking the way users engage with their content by focusing on clean design and simple, actionable steps for visitors. We were also tasked with building a tool that helped them scale up their business goals.
A unique aspect of the site is a custom crime data visualization tool we built. The dynamic map populates using DC’s public government data. There isn’t a clean, established API for this data, so we parsed their public XML feed to secure the data necessary for the application.
